Netflix is quickly becoming the go-to place for everything about the case of Ted Bundy.
Last month, the site released it's latest crime doco-series, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, and now it's following things up with the new movie about the killer starring Zac Efron.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has just paid $9 million (USD) for the distribution rights to have it on the site in the US and other countries around the world.
It doesn't come as much of a surprise that Netflix wants the new movie considering the director, oe Berlinger, also directed Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.
The new movie has recently come under fire by some viewers for 'glorifying' Ted Bundy by having Zac Efron play him however an actual survivor of Ted Bundy says Zac Efron is the perfect person to play Ted.
I believe that in order to show him exactly the way he was, it’s not really glorifying him, but it’s showing him, and when they do say positive and wonderful things about him … that’s what they saw, that’s what Bundy wanted you to see.
After reaching out to Netflix AU/NZ, there's no word yet as to whether or not the movie will be available in New Zealand.
