On Married at First Sight Australia, Sam was paired up with Elizabeth. And while she was over the moon about the match, Sam didn't seem 100% stoked because she wasn't the type he usually went for.
Like, Sam, literally said on camera that he wasn't used to dating a woman as "big" as her and joked that he might have to get her up for a run in the morning.
I’ve never really dated girls as big as Elizabeth in the past to be honest
“She’s got a beautiful face. I’m just taking her for who she is, not her body image. Maybe I’ll get her running in the mornings or something.”
He also made mention of her weight later on in the night while speaking alone with his groomsmen.
Aaand Twitter was nooooot having it.
Speaking to Kiis' Kyle and Jackie O, Elizabeth unleashed on her new TV husband for being a bit of a hypocrite.
“We’ve got that bit where he said that he felt that you were probably on the larger side compared to other women,” said Jackie.
“What the hell is that about?” added Kyle.
“He think’s I’m a heifer,” Elizabeth said matter-of-factly.
She went on to reveal that while the show was filmed months ago, she had only found out about Sam’s body shaming a couple of weeks ago.
“I actually only like a couple of weeks ago was the first time I found out that he actually thought that I was a larger lady,” she continued. “And I was like, ‘Geez thanks mate’.”
She also hinted at the fact that Sam had double standards, in reference to him saying that people often didn't take him seriously because of his good looks.
“This coming from the man who says that he does not like to be judged for his appearance,” added Elizabeth, referencing some of Sam’s ads that aired on TV before the show began.
TBH we get the feeling that things only get worse for Elizabeth and Sam as the season goes on.
“There’s a lot that happens with you guys in this series,” said Jackie. “From what I’ve seen that happens this week and next, it gets crazy!
“There’s a bunch,” Elizabeth said. “With me everything’s always going to be crazy. I’m not your subdued kind of lady.”
