Yesterday, we told you about how Ariana Grande got a new tattoo of Japanese characters aaand it didn't say what she thought it said.
Instead of "7 Rings" - what it was meant to say - translated to a Japanese style BBQ grill.
Grande shared an updated photo of her ink, adding "slightly better. thanks to my tutor for helping me fix and to @kanenavasard for being a legend. and to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). rip tiny charcoal grill. miss u man. I actually really liked u."
But, LOL, it's still wrong!!! 😳
When Japanese is read vertically from top to bottom, it's also read right to left. So, as her tutor suggested, the new symbol should have actually been added above the original tattoo, but it wasn't. (The mockup that Grande shared on Instagram was incorrect, too.)
So, since Grande elected to place the new Japanese character (along with a heart) below the original, it now translates to... wait for it... "Japanese barbecue finger."
OMG. Not sure if that's better or worse...
