If it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, don't give up hope just yet!

Because according to a study conducted by DIRECTV, people who watch 'Friends' are more likely to perform well in exams. It's unclear though which is the cause or effect - maybe intelligent people are just more drawn to watching the show.

The study involved a survey of US university students, exploring the relationship between their SAT scores and the TV shows they enjoy watching the most.

Overall it seems that comedy fans are more likely to ace their exams than those into drama. The top favourite shows for the highest exam scores were found to be Friends, The Simpsons, Top Gear, House of Cards, Sherlock, Seinfeld and South Park.

Bad news for fans of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development and Band of Brothers though - these shows were the favourites for people with lower exam scores. So maybe Jon Snow really does know nothing after all...

Well, we'll be rewatching Friends for the millionth time if you need us!
