An outraged bride has cancelled her entire wedding after her guests refused to donate around $1500 to go towards the expenses of the day.

"Dear friends, it comes with great sadness that I am announcing the cancellation of the [name blanked out] wedding." the bride wrote in a lengthy Facebook post.

"I apologise for cancelling only 4 days beforehand. Unfortunately, [name blanked out] and I have broken up due to some recent and irreparable problems."

She went on to add that she would remain civil with her ex fiance for the sake of their son.

"Our dream wedding amounted to $60,000... All we asked for was a little help from our friends and family to make it happen."

The bride went on the add her groom started to gossip about her after she insisted guests pay at least $1500 to attend the wedding.

"I SPECIFICALLY, I mean SPECIFICALLY asked for cash gifts," she wrote.

"How could we have OUR wedding that WE dreamed of without proper funding? If you couldn't contribute, you weren't invited to our exclusive wedding. It's a once and a lifetime party."

She added that when they sent out the invitations, only 8 people got back to them.

The bride's friends were quick to respond to her furious post.

"I have no words. You're out of your mind, Susan," one wrote.

Despite her friends trying to intervene, there was no changing the bride's mind. "I just wanted to be a Kardashian for a day." she said.

But it seems now, the bride has sorted things out for herself by moving to South Africa. She says that she's "ridding myself of toxic energy brought on by my friends and family".

Sounds like a bit of time apart might be best for everyone in this situation.
