Even though oil diffusers are perfect for making our homes smell amazing, they potentionally could be really harmful for our pets.
There's been stories about pets getting sick because of oil diffusers and Dr. Carly Fox, a doctor at New York City's Animal Medical Center, said that's no coincidence.
While talking with Bustle, Carly said that even though essential oil aromatherapy has some proven health benefits for humans, that because of their different sensitivities, oils can have a much different impact on your pet.
I personally wouldn't use a diffuser [with a pet at home], just because of the risk of potential toxicity. Anything you diffuse will be extra sensitive for them. However, if you do decide to use one, you should definitely consult with your veterinarian first.
So if your looking at the oil diffuser sitting in the lounge next to your cat and thinking 'sh*t', then don't worry, if their behaviour hasn't changed, it might not affect them but keep a watch out and like Carly said, if you're wanting to get one, have a chat with your vet before hand.
