Study claims being lazy is a sign of high intelligence

So it's just been Easter and if you're anything like us that means you stayed inside a lot of the time and feel lazy af. You might feel a litlte guilty about it but we're here to tell you to not. Apparently that just means you're one of life's great thinkers.

The Sun reports that new research from a US-based study suggests that people with a higher IQ get bored less easily - because they've got that big old brain to keep them entertained.

The study also proposes active people who spend more time down the gym or running about town need to stay physically active to keep their mind stimulated with external activities.

So it turns out those people who are out for runs at 5am are just in need of serious mental stimulation. Whereas the couch potatoes are happy with their own thoughts.

The study was carried out on a group of students based in the Florida Gulf Coast. Led by Todd McElory, the students were given a questionnaire to rate how strongly they agreed with various statements such as 'I really enjoy a task that involves coming up with new solutions and problems', and 'I only think as hard as I have to'.

The participants were divided into 30 'thinkers' and 30 'non-thinkers' and their physical activity was then measured over the next seven days via a wrist device. The conclusive data showed the thinking group were considerably less active than the non-thinkers.

There were a couple of conclusions jumped to like the fact that the 'thinkers' were in fact less active because they were, well, thinking. But we're gonna go ahead and own this study and take it all as fact tbh.
