The internet reckons they've worked out why The Chase's The Beast has that nickname

You may recognise Mark Labbett as the man who goes by 'The Beast' on ITV game show The Chase, who's been a popular fixture of the programme since 2009 and has since appeared in US and Aussie spin-offs.

Like us, you probably assumed his nickname comes from his towering 6'6" frame. But one person has blown our mind with their tweet:

The tweet said: "Only just realised that The Beast is called that on #TheChase because in French beast is la bête and his last name is labbett. Though they called him The Beast cause he's a fat c***."

La bête. Labbett. La bête. Labbett. See?
