Frozen berries brand recalled due to traces of metal

Popular brand of frozen berries Orchard Gold are being recalled over concerns it may contain a metal.

Supplier FFOWCS Williams Ltd said a particular batch of Orchard Gold Divine Duo Mixed Berries should not be eaten and taken back to the retailer for a refund.

The batch is numbered 1711131 and has a best-before date of November 30, 2019.

The Batch Code can be found on the back of the bag near the bottom.

A spokesman said the possible contamination appeared to be the result of an isolated incident during maintenance.

"We are aware of two packets in this particular batch of 5808 which contained metal fragments. As a precaution, we have issued a voluntary recall of this batch, which was distributed to the major supermarkets in November last year."
