Ed Sheeran has been asked to perform at the Royal Wedding

Ed Sheeran might have just landed the dream gig performing at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, reportedly.

According to Us Weekly, the singer has already been approached by Prince Harry to help the couple celebrate their big day.

The source told the publication: 'Prince Harry has personally requested Ed perform at his wedding'.

While it's not known whether he's agreed to the gig, the idea of playing at the royal event has crossed Ed's mind before.

After receiving his MBE from Prince Charles in December, Ed was quizzed about whether he would say yes to if he was asked to perform on the big day. When asked he said: 'Yeah, why not.'

It was not the first time Ed has been singled out as a potential musical act - telling KIIS FM in December that he would play 'If I was free'.

'I get asked this all the time like I know the Royal family. I've met Harry once -  that was in 2011 at his grans' Jubilee, and it was like, 'Hey.' 'Hey'... I barely know him!' he continued.
