Who'll take the top job while PM Jacinda Ardern's on maternity leave

The biggest news of the day, week, and year (even though we're only half way through Jan) is that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is pregnant!

The Prime Minister posted on Facebook to announce the news saying "We're both really happy. We wanted a family, but weren't sure it would happen for us, which has made this news unexpected but exciting"

So for six weeks we'll have an acting PM running the country and we thought offer a few candidates of our own:

Jono Pryor Because NZ definitely needs another bald white man to run the country.

Dom Harvey could be another choice because he's always wanted to 'run' for office, or was he just talking about running to the office every day?

Oprah's talked about running for President in 2020 so why not come to NZ for a crash course on running a country.

Running the country would be a walk in the park for Sharyn Casey compared to her usual job of keeping Jono & Ben in check.

But it seem's like our suggestions are a bit too late because Jacinda said she had met with Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters to share the news and asked him to take over as Acting Prime Minister for six weeks.

Yesterday, I met with [Mr Peters] to share the news and to ask him to take on the role of Acting Prime Minister for a period of six weeks, after our baby is born.
