The Dunedin City Council has voted to allow shops to trade on Easter Sunday, coinciding with three Ed Sheeran concerts in the city.
Dunedin's population is expected to double when Sheeran hits the city to perform.
The shows on March 29, 31 and April 1 prompted the council to review its trading policy to allow shops to open on April 1, Easter Sunday.
It was a close call, with 53 percent of people favouring to allow shops to open, while 44 percent didn't want shops to be open.
So, for those of you hitting the Ed Sheeran gigs, you can be relieved that you can, in fact, drink at the gig!
