If you thought IT couldn't get anymore terrifying, turns out you were wrong...
Even though the filmed showed just about as much of Pennywise as we could handle without having nightmares for the rest of our lives, apparently there were more scenes originally planned for him in the movie.
Bill Skarsgard, the man behind Pennywise, revealed to Variety that there was one "really, really disturbing" flashback scene that had to be cut from the final film.
There was a scene we shot that was a flashback from the 1600s, before Pennywise [was Pennywise]
The scene turned out really, really disturbing. And I’m not the clown. I look more like myself. It’s very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from. That might be something worth exploring in the second one. The idea is the ‘It’ entity was dormant for thousands and thousands of years. The [flashback] scene hints on that.
TBH as much as we can imagine how scary a flashback would be, we're 100% keen on seeing some pre teen Pennywise (as in before he went all hungerbuster on the kids of Derry) in 'Chapter 2' which is already meant to get a whole lot scarier!
