Struggling to fall a sleep at night? Study says eating nuts can help

Because starring at your phone for 3 hours before you go to sleep DEFINITELY can't be to blame for your sleepless nights...

If you are finding it hard to nod off at the end of the night, apparently eating eight almonds and two dates within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning can help you sleep at the other end of the day (very exact we know).

Sleep therapist, Dr Nerina Ramlakhan, told The Telegraph that eating this amount of almonds and dates is the perfect mix of fat, carbs, and protein to get your metabolism going, stabilise your blood sugars and help your body produce the sleep inducing hormone 'melatonin'.

"It's as simple as this: If you don't breakfast, your body believes it is living in famine and produces stress hormones that are not conducive to restful sleep,”

“But by eating breakfast, you’re letting your body know there is enough food and you are living in safety, which in turn switches on your sleep, energy systems.”

“Eight almonds and two dates is a brilliant start to the day for anyone as they wake up.”

So pretty much if you want to sleep better at night, make sure you're eating breakfast in the morning.
