Come on... don't pretend like you don't do it. We all know how much you love watching those Dr Pimple Popper videos.
Like pretty much everything else in the world, it turns out there's an actual *scientific* reason behind why we all love to pop our pimples so much.
According to Cosmopolitan, popping a pimple is liken to the thrill of going on a rollercoaster. It makes you feel like you're "experiencing a real sense of danger", even in a totally harmless/safe situation.
Squeezing the pus out of a big juicy pimple (or just watching others do it online) has been scientifically proven to heighten the human senses in a new and somewhat exciting way.
The team over at Elite Daily spoke with psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman, who also had some thoughts on the matter.
"It makes us anxious to know that something is going to be happening in the future, and [we don't] have control over it," she said.
"So taking over control when something is about to ‘pop' or ‘happen,' makes us feel less helpless."
Anyway, we hope that gives you something to think about the next time you're popping a zit infront of the bathroom mirror.
