Get your groove on because NZ is getting a brand new 70's disco bar

Prepare to step into that time machine friends, we’re cruising right on back to the ‘70s!

Auckland’s favourite whiskey bar, The Jefferson, who previously wowed us with the vibrancy of Juniper Room and the brilliance of Elyx House, has just opened its arms to yet another A-class pop up.

This time, the theme celebrates an era that welcomed flared jeans, dazzling hair do’s and jazz tunes that even got our grandpas hitting the d-floor! Bring on those ‘70s vibes, we’re in for some fun.

With the name ‘Soul Train’, there is no doubt that this pop-up encompasses a little funk. The room is hand spray painted in a multitude of colour-ways and on entrance you’re greeted by the iconic Diana Ross’s face printed at large on the wall. Soulful tunes will envelop the room and have you getting ready for the weekend thanks to the talented DJ’s spinning jazzy vinyl throughout the night.

The drinks menu is looking equally tempting. We’ve got pina coladas dressed with miniature umbrellas whilst the old ‘harvey wallbanger’ and ‘blue lagoon’ cocktails have also made the cut. For those wanting a great night and an even happier stomach, a new gluten free beer is on offer made from organic ingredients (one for the ceoliacs to rejoice over!).

The venue brings new meaning to style; the design breaks every single code of colour clashing yet manages to encompass so much beauty. Yet again, some serious congratulations are in order to the crew at The Jefferson!

Grab your bestie, your work crew or your partner and head along for a drink to celebrate a time where the air breathed liberty and people came together with a fresh drink, an epic outfit and even greater music.
