Winter’s looking better already, isn’t it?
Before you go getting all sad that winter is here, flick on the TV, cosy up on your couch and queue up the following movies and shows that are coming to a Netflix account near you soon.
This is everything you need to watch on Netflix This winter. Oh, and just FYI, some of these trailers are NSFW. Gypsy we're looking at you.
Brad Pitt’s latest flick, War Machine, just dropped and we can’t wait to watch it. Described as part parody, part reality, the film puts America’s military involvement in Afghanistan in the spotlight. Grab some microwave popcorn and settle in for a fun night on the couch.
Master Of None
Season two of Master Of None dropped earlier in May and it’s a ripper. We’ve smashed through every episode (there are ten) and are hanging out for more. Hopefully Dev won’t make us wait so long for the next season of LOLs.
Losing Sight Of Shore
Get ready to feel uplifted because Losing Sight Of Shore is a documentary about achieving the impossible. Follow four UK women as they set out on a nine-month journey and row across the Pacific Ocean in this award-winning documentary. It will give you the shivers and make you feel like you can achieve just about anything.
House Of Cards
Along with Donald Trump, Frank and Clare Underwood are back to wreak havoc on our television screens this winter with all 13 episodes of House Of Cards dropping on 30 May!!! If the trailer is anything to go by we’re in for a wild ride of deceit and Frank’s willingness to stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Orange Is The New Black
Will Daya shoot or won’t she? But that’s not all we’ve got questions about when it comes to season five of Orange Is The New Black. The big question on anyone who’s seen the trailer’s lips is do the girls of Litchfield take over? It sure seems like it…we’ll just have to wait until 9 June to find out!
From the same crew that brought you Orange Is The New Black, GLOW, starring Alison Brie of Mad Men fame, follows a struggling actress who’s plunged into the world of women’s wrestling in the 80s, glittery spandex and all. We predict you’ll smash through all of the eps in a weekend!
With the all star cast of Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano, Okja is a Netflix Original film from director Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer) about a girl fighting to reclaim her kidnapped pal, Okja, a gentle creature that a nasty corporation wants to use as livestock. It’s a good thing you’ll be watching this one from the comfort of your home as it looks like a bit of a tearjerker.
Starring Naomi Watts, Gypsy is a new Netflix Original series to add to your must-watch list. It sounds creepy as f*ck—a therapist intertwines herself in the lives of her patients by forming dangerous and intimate relationships with their nearest and dearest. Ok psycho pants, we’re hooked. All episodes will be ready for your binging pleasure on 30 June.
Marvel fans, this one’s for you! Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces in superhero action series, Defenders. Once again New York City is in peril and the awesome foursome must come together to save humanity.
Star Trek: Discovery
If you’re a space nerd you’ll be delighted to hear that everyone’s favourite space drama, Star Trek is coming back with a fresh storyline later this year. In Star Trek: Discovery we’ll get to travel back in time, ten years before the original series was set. Cool! Spend some time reacquainting yourself with the old show this winter before the new one hits our screens.
All Netflix has given us to go on with season two of Stranger Things are a few keywords—The Boy Who Came Back To Life, The Pumpkin Patch, The Palace, The Storm, The Pollywog, The Secret Cabin, The Brain and The Lost Brother. What does it all mean?!? We can’t wait to find out later this year!
