Our all time fave Shorty Street stars are making an official comeback, and we couldn't be happier.
It was announced yesterday that Nick and Waverley are returning to Shortland Street for the show's 25th anniversary.
After 12 years of absence from the NZ soap, actors Karl Burnett and Claire Chitham both said it was "heaps of fun" returning to the show for the anniversary.
Their storyline is being kept under "tight wraps for now" but Burnett says the 25th anniversary episode is, "definitely going to be a fun watch."
The only thing he did reveal is this... "I guess it wouldn't be that much of a surprise to say that Nick and Waverley and Chris Warner crossing paths would be the obvious thing really, cos he's pretty much the only character left that our characters know."
Chitham has been asked to return as "Waverley" before, but had never accepted the offer until now.
"A few years ago I said no because I was on my way to other things," as at the time she was playing Aurora in Outrageous Fortune.
"But this time it just felt like a really lovely time to have been asked. And it felt like a really important thing to be celebrating - 25 years of Shortland Street is pretty spectacular."
WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THIS!
