BREAKING: Air New Zealand is getting wifi on their flights

From next year passengers travelling on Air New Zealand trans-Tasman flights will be able to use their mobile devices to access the internet.

Chief Executive Officer Christopher Luxon announced at a media and travel trade event in Sydney today that flights between Australia and New Zealand will be the first to receive connectivity.

Air NZ will start test flights in the second half of 2017 and internet services will become available on Tasman, Pacific Island and long haul jet fleets from the end of next year, Mr Luxon said.

Domestic New Zealand jet services are likely to offer wifi from 2018.
