Here's the lowdown on Relay for Life 2020...

What is it?
It's a 24-hour overnight team event to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, education and support programmes. This is one of the Cancer Society’s major fundraisers and all money raised stays in Otago and Southland. In 2018 nearly 1,200 people took part and Cancer Society made over $146K profit.

Why?
To Celebrate the lives of cancer survivors and carers, Remember loved ones we have lost, and empower people and communities to Fight Back against cancer.

Who can take part?
This is a community event for people of all ages and fitness levels. Because it’s a team event, you can take part for as long as you like – as long as at least one team member is walking around the track with your team baton.

How do we sign up?
Registration is $20 per person with a minimum of 10 people per team. This includes entry to the event, a candlebag and candle for the Candlelight Ceremony, 24-hours of entertainment and breakfast on Sunday. Register at dunedin.relayforlife.org.nz
