Demi Lovato is the latest artist in a copyright battle over one of her songs.
She was just slammed with a lawsuit from indie band Sleigh Bells for copyright infringement.
The band claims that her 2015 hit 'Stars' sounds too similar to their 2010 track 'Infinity Guitars.'
According to E News the court documents stated that Sleigh Bells claimed that the two songs are "virtually identical content" that "transcend the realm of coincidence."
Also stated in the lawsuit, "a comparison of the two songs reveals that, at the very least, the combination of the hand claps and bass drum, structured as 3 quarter beats and a rest, with the bass drum providing a counter-rhythm to the hand claps, is at least substantially similar in both works. This infringing material repeats throughout the Defendants' song."
Shortly after Demi's song was realeased the band tweeted the following to her:
"Flattered you guys sampled ‘Infinity Guitars' and ‘Riot Rhythm' for ‘Stars' but we were not contacted. Gotta clear those."
