According to science, alcohol makes you "think" you're getting more sleep than you actually are.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism told BuzzFeed that, "alcohol tricks you into thinking you're sleeping better because you pass out a little faster but it's actually very disrupting and prevents you from getting a restful, deep sleep."
They also go onto to say that you will generally experience a high amount of energy in those initial moments when you wake up due to your REM patterns being disturbed.
Life is just so unfair.
