David Dallas: Don't Want The World

25/01/2013

David Dallas gives us the lowdown on his new track 'Don't Want The World' off his new EP 'Buffalo Man'.

What is your single about?
I pretty much just tried to write a sincere ode to the lady in my life that people could vibe out to. We built it around an old Jamiroquai line “I don’t want the world, i want you” - cause that line always resonated with me. It says so much in only a couple words. Went for a vintage Outkast vibe with the production and the rest is history. Something sunny that isn’t corny.

Where did you record this single, and who helped you out?
I recorded this song at the Cave in Avondale with my bro’s Fire & Ice and The Daylight Robbery on production and musician duties respectively. A lovely singer by the name of Jess Matthews also lent her vocal talents to the chorus.

Have you got a video out, if so what is the theme/story behind the video?

Video coming soon bro

Have you got any tours coming up?

In March people can catch me at Homegrown in Wellington, and the Tuborg Sounds On festival here in Auckland.

Have you got an album coming out soon? (give us the dates)
Workin on my album ‘Falling Into Place” at this very second. Will be out as soon as we’ve decided it’s rad enough.
