WATCH: Team NZ's incredible medal-winning performance at the ICU cheerleading world champs

Chanting "N-Z, kia kaha Ki-wis" for the rest of the day!

Our New Zealand teams brought their A-game to the International Cheer Union competition in Orlando, USA over the weekend.

The gals put their absolute all into their performances throughout the prelims and semi-finals, earning them a spot to compete in the finals on Saturday.

The hard yards they put in showed as the Kiwi All-Girl Elite team earned themselves a silver medal.

This isn’t their first rodeo either, they've nailed second place four times now! While missing out on the gold to Japan, you can bet they’ll be gunning to break their silver streak in 2025.

With the height and synchronisation like THAT it’s no wonder we came out in second place!

And let’s not forget about our Junior All-Girl Advanced Team. They narrowly missed the top three, landing an impressive fourth place among some fierce competition from Mexico (1st), Australia (2nd), and Canada (3rd).

The ICU competition was packed full of energy, stunts and basket tosses with over 11,000 cheerleaders from 21 countries hitting the stage.

And can we please talk about the Olympic-like opening ceremony… we’re OBSESSED!

We couldn’t be prouder of our Kiwi gals. The skill, the teamwork and the sportsmanship you lot put in is incredible. Let’s hope a gold or two is on the cards for the 2025 comp!
