This 'Grey's Anatomy' star is filling Meghan Markle's spot on 'Suits'

scandal 01/02/2018

TBH We're still not ready to accept that Meghan Markle's leaving Suits.

But now she's literally off to be a Princess and live the perfect life with Prince Harry, we don't really have much choice but to come to terms with it.

Since she's leaving though, the question is 'Who's going to fill in the massive spot she's leaving in the show?'

Well we've finally found out and we've already seen her on one of our other fav shows...Grey's Anatomy's Izzie Stevens!

This week it was announced that Izzie (a.k.a Katherine Heigl) is being brought in to Suits to take on a new lead role. Not only will she be filling the spot left by Meghan, but she'll also be taking over the role of Harvey's partner in crime with Mike announcing that he's leaving the show too.

Katherine will play 'Samantha Wheeler' a new partner at the law firm with the potential to either be a 'powerful ally' or 'fearsome enemy'. Aaron Korsh, showrunner, said Katherine will be a 'direct threat' to the series' status quo:

On behalf of the entire Suits team, I am extraordinarily excited to welcome Katherine Heigl into our family – I have always been a big fan of her work and was delighted to discover she was an avid Suits fan herself. I cannot wait to have her come play with our entire cast and crew. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Harvey, Louis, Donna and Alex as the mysterious Samantha Wheeler is a direct threat to their status quo. One thing is for sure – Samantha’s wit, charm, loyalty, strength and vulnerability will all be put to the test as she muscles her way into the firm currently known as Pearson Specter Litt.

Katherine is expected to be apart of the show of the show when the new season starts later this year which you'll be able to watch, along with the past series, exclusively on Lightbox.
