Irish boyband Westlife have decided to walk away from a 13-year relationship with mentor Simon Cowell by quitting his record label. The media mogul signed the group up to Sony BMG before they hit the big time in 1998. They then moved to work with Cowell under his Sony imprint Syco in 2002. Now following rumours the band is unhappy with the way Cowell's team managed the release of latest album Gravity, bandmember Nicky Byrne has confirmed that their professional relationship with the TV titan is over. On his Twitter.com page, he writes, "Truth is yes we have moved on from Syco records after a fantastic 13 years.. But it is time for a change and it's very exciting..!" WENN.com
