A representative for DRAKE has dismissed
reports suggesting the rapper was involved in a violent altercation with CHRIS
BROWN and his entourage in a New York club on Wednesday night (13Jun12).
The Best I Ever Had hitmaker was partying with fellow hip-hop star Meek
Mill and a group of pals at Manhattan
hotspot W.i.P., where Brown and his friends were also enjoying a night out,
when the two camps allegedly clashed.
The fight escalated and Brown was hit in the face with a bottle, leaving
him with a nasty cut on his chin. Four other people were also injured in the
bust-up and one woman was taken to hospital with a gash in her head.
Initial reports suggested the two parties had clashed over Brown's
ex-girlfriend Rihanna, but a source tells TMZ.com that was not the case.
Now Drake's spokesperson has come forward to clarify the rumours,
insisting the rapper had nothing to do with the brawl.
His rep tells TMZ.com, "Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing
of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the
altercation began.
"(Drake) did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to
person or damage to property."
Meanwhile, Brown's publicist has also issued a statement about the
fight, claiming the singer, his model girlfriend Karrueche Tran and their pals
were the "victims of a brutal attack".
The press release continues, "They sustained several injuries. Chris
and his party are co-operating with NY authorities who are pursuing this
incident further."
Police were called to the scene, but by the time officers arrived, the
stars and their entourages had left the club. Cops are currently investigating
the incident and are looking at surveillance footage and talking to witnesses
to piece together the order of events.
The Australian reveller, who was hospitalised after the club fight, has
filed a police report, according to TMZ.com.
As WENN went to press, no complaints had been
filed and no arrests had been made.
