i thought the shoes hanging over the power lines outside were a clear invitation to the house the black rubbish bags were even more inviting in thats where they sell pot and i thought "the edge" was what you get when high

POO KELLY! and actually they did tresspass, you are allowed to go up a persons driveway to the front door, but they went up the driveway, around the side, up the stairs, and to the back door, which in New Zealand constitutes a tresspass. They did it intetionally, and therefore the fact that they placed their foot on the property, constituted a tresspass.
