Taylor Momsen knows how to be controversial and this album shows Taylor putting her controversy to good use - the girl can sing.
The album opens with 'My Medicine' which is a a great mixture of acousitc and full noise song straight off the bat Taylor shows you she's not your normal actress turned singer her voice is vocally incredible & on this album you'll hear all the different ways she can use it.
The Pretty Reckless know how to tell a great story in their song writing you'll hear this esp in Goin' Down a song that Taylor describes as a big "fuck you" to the Catholic Church with all the molestation going on, it's a song about killing her cheating boyfriend & seducing a priest for forgiveness, the break down in the middle is awesome you'll def be trying to learn all the words!
Light Me Up is a great debut because it's so different the whole way through, the songs don't all sound the same so by the end of the album they prove they're not one trick ponies, they have a future & they're not going anywhere.
Highly reccommend this album, think of it as Paramore with a lot more balls & brutal honesty.
This album is only available on itunes and only $16.99 so it's a bloody bargain!
