The Earlybirds new single is track 2 on our debut album Favourite Fears, this track is called LOW.
The Earlybirds are Filip, Michael, Jared, Kane and Sean. Check out The Earlybirds on tour with Opshop starting on September 17th at Matakana, all dates are on our MySpace page www.myspace.com/earlybirds
What is your single about?
The Song is about the preconceptions that can be made about our music just because of our age, and how it can come across. It's an important point for us, as even though a band may be young, the music should still be taken with listening ears.
Where did you record this single, and who helped you out?
Low was recorded in York St, produced by Greg Haver and mixed by Clint Murphy. It was Mixed in the UK, then Mastered in New York. So feels like a bit of an international explosion! Made possible with help from NZ on air.
Have you got a video out, if so what is the theme/story behind the video?
The Video has a theme of things being exploded and magnified! Loads of smoke and wicked lighting (well thats what it was like filming!). Its being patched up at the moment but should be out by Mid-September, can't wait to see it and share it with our fans.
Who’s in your band?
Filip on vocals, Michael and I (Kane) on Guitar, Jared on Bass and Sean on Drums
Have you got any tours coming up?
Yes! We have a North Island tour with Opshop starting from September 17th in Matakana and winding up to October 2nd at the Brownzy on the North shore. Totally excited about this one, and to get a spot on Jasons' Ark which could prove handy. All the ticket info can be found through Ticketmaster.
We'll definitely be found rocking up for a Summer tour across NZ as well, so keep an eye out!
Have you got an album coming out soon?
Our Album Favourite Fears came out late August, and is available all throughout New Zealand at any decent music store! Or online at the usual places. Definitely worth a listen or two.
