Australian singer and songsmith, Gotye, has done it again with his chart topping track, Somebody That I Used To Know.

The song, which features Hamiltonian Kimbra, gained the top place in the coveted Triple J Hottest 100 in Australia yesterday.

The chart, which takes place every year on Australia Day, counts down the hottest tracks from the past year and is the most popular music countdown in the world.

This year 1.3 million people put in their votes for their favourite songs of 2011 and it was unanimously decided that Somebody That I Used To Know was the biggest hit of the year.

Coming in at a close second was, everyone's favourite song right now, Lonely Boy by The Black Keys.

Other high achievers were LA band Foster The People (3 songs), our very own Kimbra (3 songs) and Florence + The Machine (2 songs).
