Russell Brand gets kicked out of GQ Awards afterparty Fri-06-Sep-13 16:34 Share this RUSSELL BRAND was kicked out of the GQ Awards afterparty on Tuesday after cracking jokes about Nazis. The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was picking up the Oracle of the Year prize at the annual ceremony in London when he took a shot at the evening's sponsors Hugo Boss, the German fashion firm which produced uniforms worn by Adolf Hitler's troops during World War II.He said, "If any of you know a little bit about history and fashion, you'll know it was Hugo Boss (who) made the uniforms for the Nazis. The Nazis did have flaws, but they did look f**king fantastic, let's face it, while they were killing people on the basis of their religion and sexuality!"Later in his speech, Brand placed a finger under his nose to impersonate Hilter, joking, "I'm a comedian and it's my job to make jokes about things. Hugo Boss, it's fair enough, he might not have known! 'We're selling a lot of these f**king (uniforms), they're flying off the shelves!' Don't take life too seriously, soon we'll all be in the grave. Oh f**k!"Organisers reportedly had Brand ejected from the star-studded aftershow event, but the controversial comic took to Twitter.com to defend himself, relaying the conversation he had with GQ magazine's editor Dylan Jones. He wrote, "GQ editor: 'What you did was very offensive to Hugo Boss.' Me: 'What Hugo Boss did was very offensive to the Jews.'
