Hello! I'm Ruby Frost
What is your single about?
'Porcupine' is an angst-ridden song about getting into a new relationship, and wanting to make it work - but being riddled with trust issues that keep turning my heart into a prickly porcupine. I recorded it partly in NZ - with an American vocal producer called Bassy Bob, and then it was produced in New York by Chris Zane (who produced Passion Pit and Friendly Fires).

Have you got a video out?
Yes - 'Porcupine'... it was directed by Ralph Matthews, it shows me trapped on a pedestal trying to fight my trust issues... and i'm in a 3m high dress! (watch the video below.)
Who's in your band?
Me! (Ruby Frost) and Jimmy Mac (aka Friendrock) - drums, sampling. He's an octopus, very busy.
Have you got any tours coming up?
Over summer i'll be touring around NZ with Six60 and Mt Eden. Mt Eden remixed my song 'O That I Had' so i'll sing that with them each night. Then we play Rhythm & Vines! And then i'll do my own NZ tour for the album early next year.
Have you got an album coming out soon?
Yes! It's called 'VOLITION' and will be out early next year. Just finished it in New York and very excited to share.
