Rosie Huntington-Whitely has come to the defence of Transformers director Michael Bay, insisting she never felt "uncomfortable" while shooting with him.

Bay was rumoured to have fallen out with the franchise's former female lead Megan Fox, who exited after two films only to be replaced by Huntington-Whiteley for the third installment, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

The robot films' other main actor Shia LaBeouf recently spoke out about Fox's departure, revealing his former co-star felt "awkward" about working with Bay because he "films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old (boy's) sexuality".

LaBeouf's comments hit headlines and Huntington-Whiteley has now spoken out about the controversy, but the Victoria's Secret model is adamant she enjoyed her time working with Bay.

She tells Access Hollywood, "I think what Shia was saying was that Michael loves women, and I think he films women in a very sensual way... We had great fun. I never feel uncomfortable with Michael. And if I do, I make sure I tell him. He's always respects it."
