There’s proof that Katie Holmes had been planning her divorce for years!

Katie had already settled into her new apartment, changed her phone number and hired new staff, before she filed the divorce papers. There are reports suggest she started planning it all when she started hanging out in New York two years ago.

Sources say:

"She spent part of every month for the last two years in New York, possibly as a precursor to filing for divorce in that state, where residency is required."

Katie filed in New York because, unlike California, New York can look into the issues causing a need to file for divorce and use those in judgement.
