Despite reports last week, looks like
Rihanna won't be taking the stage at the Grammys this weekend.
She was rumoured to be invited to perform and has come out saying she believes last year's cancellation of her performance (the night
Chris Brown hit her) has put a dampner on performing this year.
"We messed their show up pretty bad last year," Rihanna told Carson Daly this week, referring to the Chris Brown incident and its effect on the Grammys. "They might be a little mad at me."
She still plans to attend though, as she's up for two awards with
Jay-Z and
Kanye for "Run This Town."
Someone who may be performing at the Grammys this weekend though is surprisingly,
Michael Jackson's kids!
Katherine Jackson – who is now the legal guardian of
Prince Michael, 12,
Paris, 11, and
Prince Michael II, seven – is reportedly in talks with organisers about whether the kids could sing one of their father’s songs at the ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre on Sunday night (31.01.10).
Maybe they'll sing with the 3D Michael Jackson tribute other stars are set to sing on?
There's also rumours flying around that
Lady Gaga is set to perform with someone at The Grammys, but who?
There's strong suggestions it could be
Elton John!
A source said: "Elton and Lady Gaga on the same stage is sure to create fireworks, it could be one of the most memorable Grammy performances of all time."
Other artists performing at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards include
Pink,
Beyonce,
Black Eyed Peas and
Taylor Swift.
Beyonce heads up the list of nominations with 10 nods, while Taylor Swift has eight, followed by Black Eyed Peas on six.
Katy Perry has said she'd quit her music career if she was offered a job as a judge on American Idol!
She guest judged alongside regulars
Simon Cowell,
Randy Jackson and
Kara DioGuardi recently and said she really enjoyed how "fun" and "easy" it was.
She told MTV: 'The 'American Idol’ experience was awesome. If I was offered that job as a permanent host, I would ditch my career and take on that career. It’s such a fun, easy thing. I mean, I guess the pressure gets really on when you start eliminating the number of people that are going through until you've got the final two. So that can be kind of tense and stressful, but otherwise it’s kind of like judging a talent show.'
And another singer who's pretty keen on a judging panel job is
Lady Gaga, but this time it's on
Simon Cowell's US Version of 'The X Factor'.
He's said to of been really impressed with her after her performance on the UK version of the TV show recently (you know when she sang in a massive bath!)
A source said "Simon thinks Lady Gaga is great and really likes her energy. Conversations have been happening between Cowell's US team and her people about what kind of role she could have on the show."
But Gaga's people say she could be way to busy with her intense touring schedule to free up anymore time for any other work.
Susan Boyle's brother has got all freaked out (and rightly so!) after she found an intruder in her home the other day.
He said he's worried she'll get assassinated like John Lennon did! And he wants security beefed up for the star...
"'I am very upset about the lack of security. The family have told them several times that vast improvements need to be made to avoid something like this happening.
"This is the second time something has happened to Susan at her home and it is extremely worrying. Susan is a massive world star and needs better protection. You look at what happened to John Lennon in New York – it’s really worrying."
Patrick Stump (singer of
Fall Out Boy) is working on his own album!
He's updated his website with a video of him performing all the instruments on this crazy song he's made with a message at the end "I'm working on an album, i'll be writing/producing/performing everything myself. Stay tuned."
Interesting!
