Franz Ferninand frontman Alex Kapranos has gone nuts at the band's US record label after he found out they gave permission for McDonalds to use one of their songs on a McD's advertising campaign without asking the band first.
Alex took to Twitter pissed off, saying "This latenightmcdonalds.com is an example of how a band falls out with their US label'... 'Did they think we'd approve this shit? Dirty bastards. Stupid arrogant motherf--king pig-brained arseholes. I'd rather eat a cowpat on a bun than a bloody McDonald's."
Alex has since calmed down saying:
"I’m not really pissed off with McDonalds', he continued. 'They’re just the same as any other psychopathic corporation - no more evil, no less. The psychopathic corporation I am pissed off with is Sony who owns Epic who release our records in America. But not really surprised."
Blink 182's new album isn't coming out as soon as fans hoped it would.
The band leaked a teaser trailer to a doco ("Blinkumentary") they've been filming around their latest tour and recording the new album, which had everyone looking forward to a 2010 release date. But no, Tom DeLonge has let slip it'll be more likely 2011 before we get our hands on any new Blink material. In an interview with Billboard about his other band Angels & Airwaves (which by the way are releasing their third album "Love" FOR FREE on valentines Day via their website) he said Blink 182 were currently in talks with Interscope (their label) about a new release for 2011.
It doesn't really come as a shock to fans though, as the band never said anything about a release date - we just thought with you know a new doco, tour and a new year, we'd get something soon. But that's alright, any new stuff from a band as legendary as Blink 182 is worth the wait.
Lily Allen recently said she's quitting music (well for awhile anyway, hopefully not forever) to help out her sister with a clothing label and start up her own indie music label. Well now she's let slip that it may be for another reason entirely... having a baby!
She told fans at Brisbane's Big Day Out recently "I want to have a baby. I’m not saying I’m pregnant now. Shut up, Lily. Shut up, Lily. That's the sort of stuff that gets me into trouble I suppose."
Lily's been seeing her builder boyfriend for around seven months now and she also said recently "I just want to have babies and live in the countryside, that’s my goal really."
Alicia Keys has revealed in a radio interview she's desperate to do a duet with her idol Prince. And that he's the only artist that she gets a little starstruck over... "I met Prince before. I tried to act cool but I definitely had a little star-struck moment. He’s great."
She's also recently said she'd love to record with a couple of other artists...
She said: "Working with other people is definitely something I want to do more of. I love it a lot. It takes me out of my element into a whole other world. I'd love to collaborate with Kings of Leon and M.I.A. I think would be crazy."
Good Charlotte have been working hard on their next album, but sounds like they don't like it that much - cause they chucked it out and have gone back into the studio to start all over again!
Benji Madden explained all in a statement on their website...
'When we got back from the last trip to Australia, we had pretty much finished recording the record. I went into the studio to hear some roughs and it just wasn't right'.
'I couldn't figure it out. I was so lost. I love the songs, i love the lyrics, so what was the problem. I was just so bewildered. Devastated actually. This had never happened. I felt crazy. Like this. I told our manager to just PAUSE everything and I need time to think. I called all the boys immediately and called an emergency meeting. Everyone sat down. And i just said "Guys, we gotta start over"
'I was expecting everyone to freak on me and say "What?!"
'But Billy was the 1st to speak, and right away he said "I knew you were gonna say That, my gut is telling me the same thing" lets do it. Everyone agreed.
'While we were working with one of the most successful, biggest producers in the Business, all he seemed to focus on was "Commercial Success" of the record and all everyone seemed to talk about was the RADIO'.
'Deep down I just knew we needed to be in the studio with someone who understood the heart and soul of our band. And what that is, it's YOU GUYS.
Good Charlotte has never relied on Radio Success. We have always stood firm on the strength of Our Fans'.
Muse and Jet did something special together at the 100th Big Day Out in Sydney on Saturday night. Jet joined Muse on stage at the end of their set to do a cover of Ac/DC's 'Back In Black'! Watch it below...
If you're a fan of Lauryn Hill and missed her at Raggamuffin this weekend gone, check out a vid a fan got and put on Youtube. MTV have even linked to it, saying it's a "rare performance" from Lauryn, with her last appearance being in 2007 and it wasn't a very good one at that. Lucky us eh!
