Michelle Trachtenberg lost out on Twilight role

Actress Michelle Trachtenberg has revealed she lost out on the role of Bella Swan in the hit Twilight movie franchise because of scheduling complications.

The Gossip Girl star was first approached by a casting agent in the first Twilight film's early production stages but because she was already locked into her contract with U.S. TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she had to pass on the part, which eventually went to then-newcomer Kristen Stewart.

She tells UsMagazine.com, "I was actually supposed to star in that (Twilight), but I was on Buffy at the time... I've known (director) Catherine Hardwicke since the movie Thirteen... I guess schedules never worked out."

Trachtenberg understands why she was considered to star in yet another vampire franchise: "There's only so few pale girls in Hollywood."

oh em gee, imagine if she was Bella. Do you think Robert Pattinson and her would've dated? I think she would've dated Taylor Lautner ACTUALLY, i CAN see them together.

I bet she did couldn't predict how HUGE the Twilight franchise has become. Man I'd punch myself (literally) for years if I got the role in a massive succesful film and had to turn it down.

Like did you guys no Matthew McConaughey was actually going to play Jack in TITANIC but couldn't so Leonardo Dicaprio got it. GUTS!!!!!!!!! Leo is actually one of my fave actors, Gawjuss!!

Does everyone agree with me? PlEASE reply. It would mean so much to me, I don't really have many friends (even though I'm kind, considerate, not shallow or vain at all (honest), i'm blonde and have F-cup boobs) and I can never get through to the Edge to talk on live radio. Thanks. xx
