Lorde won an award but wouldn’t take it Thu-17-Apr-14 11:58 Share this By Jay-Jay FeeneyLorde won another award last night in Auckland. The Taite music award for the best local release of the past year. Her acceptance speech was made via video from Las Vegas where she is on tour at the moment, however instead of gracefully accepting the award she has decided to split her winnings amongst the other finalists…."I think everyone is kind of sick of me winning stuff at the moment and other people are in more in need of the funds and exposure right now. So if you will accept it, the prize money and the studio time have been split between this year's nominees …if you don't want it that's cool too."If all agree to Lordes suggestion, the nominees will receive $1666.66 each a share of studio time, a radio marketing campaign and a year's supply of energy drink.
