LIAM HEMSWORTH has jetted back to the U.S. but refused to answer questions about his romance with MILEY CYRUS and his friendship with JANUARY JONES.

The Hunger Games star became engaged to the former Hannah Montana actress last year but speculation about the state of their union went into overdrive last month when he was spotted out with Mad Men star Jones.

The rumours snowballed when Hemsworth flew Down Under earlier this month to spend time with his family and Cyrus was snapped in Los Angeles without her engagement ring.

Although she eventually took to Twitter.com to tell fans the piece was simply being repaired, Hemsworth has remained tight-lipped about the situation since the rumours started - and he was in no mood to chat when he arrived back at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday night.

Wearing a hooded top and with dark shades hiding his eyes, Hemsworth walked slowly through the arrivals terminal to a waiting car without answering questions about January Jones or the state of his romance with Cyrus.
