Leonardo DiCaprio is single again after splitting from girlfriend Blake Lively.

The couple started dating earlier this year (11), when the stars were photographed together in Italy, Monaco and Los Angeles, and the Gossip Girl beauty even jetted to Australia to mark her birthday with DiCaprio in August (11).

The young lovers never spoke about their romance, but representatives for the pair confirmed the break-up news to UsMagazine.com on Tuesday (04Oct11), insisting the two stars would "remain friends".

Titanic hunk DiCaprio ended his five-year relationship with on/off girlfriend Bar Refaeli in May (11) and Lively split from her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley in 2010.
