KINGS OF LEON drummer NATHAN FOLLOWILL has been hospitalised with broken ribs after the band's tour bus was involved in a road accident following a show in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday night (09Aug14).

The 'Sex on Fire' hit makers have since assured fans Followill will be fine, but they have postponed their show at Saratoga Springs in New York on Sunday (10Aug14) to allow the percussionist time to recover from his injuries.

A statement posted on the group's Facebook page on Sunday morning reads: "The band was en route to their hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill.

"Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well. The band will postpone the show that was planned for TONIGHT, August 10th, until further notice. Refunds for ticket holders will be available at point of purchase."

The drummer's bandmate brother, Jared Followill, adds on Twitter:

And Nathan himself has tweeted he's doing OK:
