Kiefer Sutherland petrified of '24' comeback Wed-15-Jan-14 08:56 Share this Kiefer Sutherland is "terrified" as he prepares for the return of 24. The 47-year-old actor plays hero Jack Bauer in the hit TV series, who continually races against the clock to save the day. The show has won countless awards, including two Golden Globes, since it first aired in 2001."I'm terrified. I won't lie to you. Until we start shooting, I'm about as anxious and wound up as I've been in a long time," Keifer admitted to reporters at the Television Critics Association meeting held in California yesterday. "I used to get terrified between each season. I'm very nervous. Without patting ourselves on the back too hard, we made eight very strong years. We always would look back every season and wish something had been better, but I was very proud. So to make 12 more episodes and not make them the best 12 we've ever made, I'm terrified."After four years off air, the new series will launch on Fox on May 5 with a two-hour long show. It will then resume its regular one-hour slot from May 12, reports CBC News. The shooting schedule is to begin in Britain in the coming weeks, with the show's stars heading to the capital, something London-born Kiefer is excited about. "I've spent big chunks of my life there, but I'm anxious. We plan to be shooting outside. I'm sure we'll be hated by a large portion of London for snarling up their traffic, and for that I apologise in advance," Kiefer laughed. The action star is hoping that the new series will allow rumoured plans for a feature film to become a reality."If this ends up rebooting the show or causing a film to be made, so be it. The film is sort of an ongoing situation," he added.Cover Showbiz You May Also Like Kiefer Sutherland’s dog can sing Become a fan of The Edge on Facebook and on Twitter .
