Katy Perry accepts she's no natural beauty, confessing it "takes a village" to transform her into a stunning pop star.
The singer has brushed off reports she was furious with her husband Russell Brand when he posted an early morning photo of her without make-up online, insisting she's not the glamorous hottie her fans always see in photos and onstage.
The California Gurls hitmaker was allegedly left fuming with funnyman Brand after he uploaded an unflattering snap of her on Twitter.com in December (10). He later removed the image, prompting rumours his cheeky behaviour had landed him in trouble with his wife.
But Perry is adamant there was no fight over the photo - the star knew he was playing around and has no problem with fans seeing her when she's looking far from glamorous, because she knows she's no supermodel.
She tells Vanity Fair magazine, "We were just messing around. I didn't really care. I mean, when I go to rehearsals I look like that. I'm every woman. It takes a village to make me who I am… You don't have to wake up looking like, you know, Gisele Bundchen."
