Katie Holmes leaned on her ex-boyfriend and former Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson for support after separating from husband Tom Cruise.
Holmes filed for divorce from the Top Gun star in June, sparking a wild media frenzy, and she ultimately sought comfort in her family and close friends after the break-up.
Now Jackson, who dated Holmes in 1998 after meeting her on the set of their hit U.S. TV series, has revealed the actress called him in the wake of her split to reconnect and catch up.
During an interview on Canadian chat show George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Jackson, who is romancing National Treasure star Diane Kruger, said, "Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?' 'I had a kid' 'Yeah, that's crazy, I heard!' It was nice. It was very nice, actually."
