Pop star Justin Bieber has taken to his Twitter page to apologise for his Sunday night (29Aug10) concert cancellation - revealing to fans he's "trying to recover from the not so good news" from his doctor.

The Baby hitmaker was forced to pull out of his scheduled appearance at the New York State Fair in Syracuse due to a mystery illness.

Bieber admits he's been "super sick" recently, and a doctor ordered the teenager to undergo complete bed rest - but the singer is just sad to let his fans down.

In a series of posts on the microblogging site, the teen writes, "I really dont know what to twitter... I'm getting rest right now and trying to recover from the not so good news from the doctor.

"I'm gonna be ok just need 2 rest but I wanted all of u 2 know I never want to let any of u down. Ever. I really appreciate all the kind words. This really sucks."

Sunday's show has been rescheduled to Wednesday (01Sep10).
