JIMMY FALLON is facing legal action from a disgruntled
former male employee who alleges he was fired from the comedian's late night
talk show because of a "gender bias".
Paul Tarascio
is suing Fallon and his bosses at NBC Universal for discrimination, claiming he
lost his job as first stage manager on America's Late Night with Jimmy
Fallon in 2010 because the host preferred to work with a crew of females.
In his legal
documents, filed in New York
and obtained by TMZ.com, Tarascio alleges he was replaced by a "totally
incompetent woman" who was "less qualified" than himself to
fulfil the job's demands.
He also
alleges Fallon's director, David Diomedi, confessed that, "Jimmy just
prefers to take direction from a woman."
Tarascio is
demanding punitive damages and compensation for lost wages.
Representatives for Fallon and NBC have yet
to respond to the lawsuit.
