It's been confirmed... missing Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 crashed in to the Southern Indian Ocean with no survivors.

Speaking from a press conference, Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, says British crash investigators have been working closely with satellite imagery company Inmarsat which calculated the plane's final eight hour flight flew until it's fuel ran out and crashed in the Southern Indian Ocean off Perth.

The PM added, this was a very isolated area away from any possible landing areas and there was no hope for any survivors.

An Australian plane has spotted debris likely to be from an aircraft in the same area and an Aussie Navy ship is heading to the spot now.

Families of the passengers were told the heartbreaking news via txt message from the airline, which read: "deeply regrets that we have to assume beyond any reasonable doubt that MH 370 has been lost and that none of those onboard survived."

Families were also summoned to meetings at hotels in Kuala Lumpur and Beijing where there were heartbreaking scenes.

The Malaysian government will call the shots on what happens from now with the situation.
