Isla Fisher gave her mum a bachelorette party she'll never forget by taking her to a male strip club.
The star organised a pre-wedding celebration for her novelist mother at an exotic dance venue in her native Perth, Australia, but the event turned X-rated when the bride-to-be was invited onstage for a saucy striptease.
Fisher was left horrified as she watched a dancer pull her mum into a compromising position, but insists the visit prepared her well for her role in new comedy Bachelorette, in which she plays a bridesmaid dressed as a cat.
She tells U.S. talk show host Conan O'Brien, "I threw my mother a bachelorette party right before she got married and I took her to a strip club - this is not a great idea. I, for some reason, dressed her in a red leather dog's collar - also not a good idea. I had never been to one before and I didn't know they took off all their clothes, I thought they stayed in shorts! It was supposed to be fun, I thought it would be a great story to tell later... Then she got pulled up on stage.
"I went to the bathroom just very briefly and when I came back the gentleman had pulled off everything... My poor mum. (The stripper had) everything out and (was) literally hovering over her. It all just went wrong."
The Wedding Crashers star admits her mum took the wild bash in her stride, adding, "She's so good-natured, she just laughed through it. She coped pretty well."
