New Zealand's worst environmental disaster ever is happening right now in front of our eyes off the coast of Tauranga. It's heartbreaking, but it's not the end - you can pitch in and help get our coastline back by volunteering your time/resources to the Rena cleanup.
Please note: The Edge do not advise people to go to the beach and physically cleanup or interfere with washed up oil or cargo without the proper training & equipment. Please follow the instructions of the local authorities in the B.O.P not just for the incident overall but for your own safety.
For all the latest on the incident and how you can volunteer, check out Maritime NZ's incident page.
